ABOUT BLUEDOT
BlueDot Coworking is a nonprofit dedicated to building community-driven coworking spaces that support Southeast Ohio’s remote workforce, small businesses, and mission-driven professionals.
WHO WE ARE
LIVE. WORK. PLAY.
BlueDot Coworking was established with the purpose of operating community-oriented coworking spaces for Appalachia's remote workforce. A designated 501c3 nonprofit, BlueDot Coworking's mission is to support professionals and organizations in growing their small businesses, careers and nonprofits. BlueDot Coworking serves existing community members needing a physical space to work their remote jobs and a new demographic of professionals looking to make Southeast Ohio their home.
In addition to supporting BlueDot Coworking, The Athens County Foundation will be making the Armory their new home—a place to convene, connect, and co-create alongside the community to advance a healthy, inclusive, and thriving Athens County.

The Athens Armory, 2019
THE HISTORY AND ONGOING LEGACY OF THE ATHENS ARMORY
REVITALIZING THE ATHENS ARMORY
a building with a long history of serving the community
The Athens Armory has been a focal point of uptown Athens since its construction in 1914. Located in the heart of Athens' city center, the Armory's brick walls look down Court Street to Ohio University's Baker Center and beyond across the hills and valleys bordering the Hocking River. The City of Athens worked with an array of stakeholders to develop the next phase in the Armory’s life, while ensuring that it remains in the public trust under city ownership. Just as the building once served our nation, it will soon become a vibrant community hub and vital organ of the city, serving our region’s entrepreneurs, non-profits, and professionals.

Sadie Meade
Sadie is deeply committed to community development and sustainable economic growth in Southeast Ohio. Before joining BlueDot, she spent five years at Rural Action, where she served as the inaugural manager of the UpCycle Ohio Thrift Store and later as Workforce Development Director. As Director of BlueDot Coworking at The Athens Armory, Sadie continues this work by supporting Appalachia’s remote workforce and the small businesses, nonprofits, and professionals who strengthen local economies.
